Banksee is a financial data analysis and visualisation tool only. We are not a registered financial services provider, financial advisor, credit provider, investment manager, or any form of regulated financial institution under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS), the National Credit Act (NCA), or any other applicable South African legislation. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax, or credit advice. All insights, budgets, debt analyses, savings suggestions, and AI-generated recommendations are for informational and educational purposes only. You should always consult a qualified, registered financial advisor before making any financial decisions.
By accessing, creating an account on, or using the Banksee platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you may not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Banksee ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you represent that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
Banksee is a web-based platform that allows users to upload bank statements (in PDF or CSV format), which are then analysed using artificial intelligence to generate financial summaries, spending category breakdowns, budget suggestions, debt tracking views, recurring subscription detection, and conversational financial insights.
The Service is designed to help users understand and visualise their existing financial data. Key features include:
Banksee operates on a read-only, file-based model. We do not connect to your banking institution directly, do not require internet banking credentials, and do not initiate any transactions on your behalf.
This is the most important section of these Terms. Please read it carefully.
Banksee is a technology tool, not a financial advisory service. We are not authorised or registered under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002 (FAIS Act), the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, or any equivalent legislation to provide financial advice.
Before making any material financial decisions — including but not limited to taking out loans, making investments, cancelling insurance, entering into credit agreements, or restructuring debt — you should consult with a qualified financial planner or advisor registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).
You expressly acknowledge that any financial decisions you make based on information displayed on Banksee are made entirely at your own risk. Banksee accepts no liability whatsoever for any financial loss, damage, or disadvantage arising from your reliance on content provided by the platform.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Banksee. By using the Service, you confirm that you are 18 or older, have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, and are a resident of the Republic of South Africa or are using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others. You agree to notify us immediately at support@banksee.co.za if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Banksee reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Your bank statements and financial data are personal and sensitive. We handle your data with the highest care:
For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
You agree not to:
Banksee offers both a free tier and paid subscription plans. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to the following:
All intellectual property in the Banksee platform — including but not limited to the software, AI models, design, trademarks, logos, and written content — is owned by or licensed to Banksee. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial financial management purposes.
Your uploaded data remains your property. You grant Banksee a limited licence to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable South African law:
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, though we take industry-standard measures to ensure reliability and security.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@banksee.co.za or through your account settings.
Banksee reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, without notice, if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent behaviour, or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease and your data may be permanently deleted.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or business practices. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or a prominent notice within the platform. Your continued use of the Service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
